My Bad!

So between moving out, and working this summer I have been so super busy with everything going on! I apologize to all 2 of my followers…

I'll get back on the ball with this I PROMISE! Just some updates though:

  1. I work at a pizzeria as a waitress for my mom's fiance
  2. I am working out A LOT to stay in shape for ROTC
  3. I am keeping up with my CKI stuff
That is really it. Not much has been happening. It's been a pretty boring summer so far. I just wish school had started back up again soon! I miss Rutgers and I miss my friends from school! I am also so excited for my new apartment on-campus and new roommates <3

Ryan and I after Military Ball 2011 :)

Military Ball

So last night I had my first Military Ball at Rutgers for Army ROTC. It was interesting especially because it  was so formal and more so formal than anything else I am used to per say. But either way I had a great time! I had so much fun with boyfriend there and the after party was even more fun at the Army House (a house that students in the program traditionally live in). I think it would be great to live there at some point especially since I plan to move off campus my 3rd year in.

The ball itself started off with social hour, receiving line, the Color Guard posting of the Colors (flags), a speech from out LTC, dinner, awards, change of command, and eventually some formal dancing. And of course the party to follow…

I really look forward to this again :)

Relationships

You know what I really haven't thought about in a long time: what's it's like to just be starting a new relationship. I've been with the same person for close to a year now and I love it :) A friend of mine though is int he awkward stages of a potential budding relationship. The small things like whether he really likes her or not, what signs he is showing and what they mean; it's all so confusing sometimes trying to interpret another person's actions to be able to comprehend them in your own mind. I mean, I love my boyfriend but being with him used to be the same way. I wouldn't know hat to say sometimes because I was afraid it might be awkward, or strange and he would be like "EW," *le DUMP* but after a certain point when you get past that its a beautiful thing like what I have now. A freeness and openness to the way he and I communicate with each other. I enjoy it a lot :) More to come!

Impatient

So I am very impatient but what for specifically? More followers! I know I just started this thing, but I keep going through other blogs and seeing like 300-500 followers for all these blogs I stumble upon. It's a cool concept to know that someone somewhere out there is listening and reading what you say. I do at this point have a whopping 1 follower, but I appreciate that person for following me :) and now I have someone to write for because I know at least one person out there cares even if its in the slightest way what I have to say!

Labs

So, I'm currently sitting in my dorm doing… nothing. Being sick sincerely stinks :/ but hey, at least its keeping me in my room long enough to do some homework! Since exams are coming up soon, I really need to buckle down and do some work. So I'm posting a picture of what procrastination looks like:
Yup, there you have it. I drew myself a mustache… So now what else should I do? My physics labs? I'd really rather not… My boyfriend right now is living it up in Vegas and I'm stuck in shitty NJ doing work. Next week shouldn't be so bad though aside from studying. He'll be coming home and we'll be going off to my Military Ball here at Rutgers. I really love ROTC and hope that one day I can branch Aviation as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. Ah such high aspirations so little time!

Tent State University

So there have been protests to keep Rutgers a public university but this is one I didn't see coming. Some kids have pitched tents on College Ave. campus in Voorhees Mall and I think it goes by "Tent State University" I just hope it ends soon it's pretty tacky and annoying having protesters yell at you while trying to get to class. Do it at a time of day when college students on a college campus aren't occupied with college work. Duh!
P.S. that one tent in the front should probably get fixed up a little bit… Just saying.

Douglass Dreamin'

So as I was on the REXL today on my way to go visit a friend of mine on Douglass campus, we stopped at Red Oak Lane where the bus waits for several minutes. They chose a good spot to have this long wait because it means anyone on the bus has a nice view of Passion Puddle. Passion Puddle has some kind of myth that a Douglass girl and a Cook boy who held hands and walked around the lake 3 times stayed together in love for the rest of their lives. I personally feel like this is a little ridiculous, but I wouldn't mind going for a nice walk with my boyfriend around the lake/puddle :). Especially now in the spring time, although allergies aren't being very kind. Funny thing is, there's another myth that Mabel Smith, the first Dean of Douglass College and whom the Douglass library is named after, slaughtered her family in their home, and then committed suicide by drowning in Passion Puddle (similar to Ophelia only she slaughtered her family as an addition..) Yeah, so I mean it just goes to show you even some of the simplest things have significant and deep meaning.

I mean I see a couple fishing in this picture (moments after the photo was taken they started kissing..a lot), but hey maybe that means something near Passion Puddle, who knows?

Everyday

I will post a picture here every day with a tidbit of what's happening with my day. It could be a picture of a place that's inspired me, a person who has interacted with me, or an activity I may have taken part in. It won't be something from the past, it'll be something from THAT day itself :)

Welcome :)

Hey everyone! Welcome to my blog. I like to talk about anything and everything. I'm just finishing up my freshman year of college and well, so much has happened and my journey is off to a great start! I'll keep you posted on everything: new and old friendships, life as an Army ROTC cadet, being a part of New Jersey Circle-K, and my next endeavors for next year, joining the Queens Guard Competition Drill Team, RUSA, and pledging for a sorority (as soon as I find one that fits me well).

I'll post pix, flix, basically anything and everything under the sun. You'll soon meet my apartment mates, and the rest f my crazy friends, while hearing a random rant or two.

Don't worry, this isn't just any random blog: this is the story of my life one step, struggle, and leap at a time.
