So as I was on the REXL today on my way to go visit a friend of mine on Douglass campus, we stopped at Red Oak Lane where the bus waits for several minutes. They chose a good spot to have this long wait because it means anyone on the bus has a nice view of Passion Puddle. Passion Puddle has some kind of myth that a Douglass girl and a Cook boy who held hands and walked around the lake 3 times stayed together in love for the rest of their lives. I personally feel like this is a little ridiculous, but I wouldn't mind going for a nice walk with my boyfriend around the lake/puddle :). Especially now in the spring time, although allergies aren't being very kind. Funny thing is, there's another myth that Mabel Smith, the first Dean of Douglass College and whom the Douglass library is named after, slaughtered her family in their home, and then committed suicide by drowning in Passion Puddle (similar to Ophelia only she slaughtered her family as an addition..) Yeah, so I mean it just goes to show you even some of the simplest things have significant and deep meaning.
I mean I see a couple fishing in this picture (moments after the photo was taken they started kissing..a lot), but hey maybe that means something near Passion Puddle, who knows?
